MOSAIC CONTEMPO GLADIATOR AND LION SCENE

One can see the outlines of the man’s bicep and deltoid muscles on his right arm and protruding chest from the beige-hued tesserae. Those on the lion depict the individual fur threads of its mane and the crinkles of its nose as it roars.
Spartans gladiators would go on to Rome to be thrown into bloody battle at the Roman colosseum where they would find death or glory.
